Polytheism and monotheism

Vitrina 157
The polytheistic Roman religion worshiped Greek, Etruscan, Eastern or indigenous gods as well as the figure of the emperor. Divinities were associated with nature, people or different aspects of life. Christianity was introduced from the first century as a monotheistic religion and was persecuted in its beginning, condoned from 313 A.D. and officially adopted in 391.
