Edeta City

Vitrina 154
The Edetanorum municipium was a Roman city of Latin Right. Dual-thermal baths have been preserved until today, funerary monuments located next to an old Roman road and also part of its city planning. In its vicinity the ceramic workshop of Rascanya has been documented as well as a dense rural settlement. In 1999, at the Duc of Lliria Street No. 50-52 (Lliria) a hoard of 5,991 Roman denarii was uncovered, hidden under the floor of a house. The earliest coins were minted during the reign of Nero (54-68 AD.) and the latest belong to the emperor Caracalla (212-218 AD).
