Iberian society was strongly hierarchical and high-ranking social classes possessed luxury items. The work of goldsmiths, with oriental influence, had great quality, using several decoration techniques like granulation, niello and filigree.
Roman jewelry, stylistically diverse, continued to belong to people with high- purchasing power. From the mines of Hispania significant amounts of gold and silver were extracted, which in part served for the manufacture of luxury items.
